To Be Civilised Is To Understand the Needs of Others

“The plight of children around the world has always been a problem.  Their misery is being highlighted much more these days as more is being investigated and has come to light.

“In all walks of life, whether in the poorer and deprived countries or the richer countries, it makes no difference.  Bad handling and abuse towards our younger folk is taking place on a daily basis.

“We, as adults together with the necessary support groups, must do more to help our young.  For to have damaged children with no support leads to damaged adults and all the consequences that go with it.

“Too little is done in schools to educate our young into how to behave and how to learn to treat one another.  Bullying is rife in all schools and it is the schools themselves which are in denial, even though they advocate a no bullying policy in their schools, it still takes place.

“Until our children start to learn to stand up for themselves and to report these incidents where these children are heard and taken seriously, then the cycle continues and continues to grow.

“Bullied children often become bullies themselves in later life.  Learnt behaviour not dealt with has catastrophic consequences for so many people’s lives, where the victim feels powerless and afraid.

“Nations need to accept that this behaviour in Mankind exists and it must be dealt with at the infant level.  It cannot be tolerated if we as a people want to thrive in a happy secure and peaceful environment.

“Fear and anger cast a long shadow over nations and until we, as a society, start to realise our failings, not only to our very young, but to our own people as a whole, we cannot consider ourselves as civilised in today’s world.

“We must all learn from our mistakes and start to make a difference to heal and to understand that aggression is the killer of our societies the world over.

“To be civilised is to understand the needs of others and to support all those who are damaged and in pain if we are ever to prosper!”
